In 2007 I toured around Malaysia, travelling through parts of the Malay Peninsula and Borneo.

During our visit to Borneo we climbed Mount Kinabalu, stayed overnight on Selingan in the Turtle Islands National Park to watch Green Turtles laying their eggs and baby turtles hatched via the islands conservation programme being released into the sea, saw wild Orang-Utans, Proboscis monkeys and Crocodiles along the Kinabatangan River and visited the Sepilok Orang-Utan sanctuary and the War Memorial Park in Sandakan

In Kuala Lumpur we were able to see the preparations for Malaysias 50th Anniversary of Independence celebrations, with flags on every building and hundreds of drums lined up on the grass ready for rehearsals and in the Cameron Highlands we visited the tea plantations and took advantage of the cooler weather to do some hill walking.
